Microsoft Distances Itself From IE8 ‘OMGIGP’ Ad Following Complaints

Microsoft has distanced itself from an ad fronted by TV’s ex-Superman Dean Cain that featured a woman vomiting over her partner after she discovered the porn stash hidden in his browser history.

Following complaints, Microsoft has pulled the ad, stating, “while much of the feedback to this particular piece of creative was positive, some of our customers found it offensive, so we have removed it. We make a point of listening to our customers.”

The ad has been pulled form Microsoft’s official Better Browser web site and its IE 8 channel on YouTube. You can still catch the ad on the rest of YouTube:

EncodeHD – Convert All Your Videos For Free

Converting video is not a big deal these days. There are tons of softwares available wich uses all open source codecs and stuff like that to encode and convert videos to any format you wished for. EncodeHD is a portable video encoding software that has been designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. The video encoding software supports various output devices including Apple TV, Blackberrys, iPods, the iPhone, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP and Zune and offers one click batch conversions of various source video formats. The user of the software can either drag and drop the videos in the program’s interface or use the file browser to do so. The software itself can encode a wide variety of video formats including avi, flv, wmv and mp4.

A click on the start button will start the conversion of all videos in the program’s queue. The videos will be converted to mp4 format and placed in the same directory as the video encoding software. One of the few options that the program provides is to change that output folder. Other available options are to autosplit videos that are larger than 4 Gigabytes and to select the output for tv option. This is useful for devices that can be connected to a tv like the iPod to improve the display of the videos on the tv. Advanced options include the addition of extra ffmpeg flags and the selection of a preferred audio language. EncodeHD will display a progress bar at the bottom during the video encoding process. It is an interesting useful tool especially for users who own supported devices.

My exams are over now..So now, I will be able to look after this blog and my other projects!

Though I wanted to post some good articles today here but as you must have have noticed, Technology Unleashed is behaving odd. I am now trying my best to bring it back to the track and remove all the errors as soon as possible. I updated it to WordPress 2.8 manually as the automatic feature was not working due to some upgrade to the host server, which is still getting some tweaks.

I am extremely sorry for any convenience caused to you due to all this.
